 Bishop Robert Morlino invites the faithful of the Diocese of Madison to pray and fast for three days, December 9th through 11th, to ask "our Lord for a restored respect and protection of the vulnerable among us, particularly, but not limited to, each and every preborn child." Fasting from food, drink, television, or Internet is encouraged. Bishop Morlino especially emphasizes prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose feast is celebrated on December 12th.The Bishop's request comes at a time when the Senate is negotiating unprecedented healthcare legislation which could include coverage for abortion. In this hope-filled Advent season, please join us in prayer and fasting for the protection of all human life. |
